Ghost penetrates North America for The Black to the Future Tour. It was day two in to the tour when they pulled into Stroudsburg, PA and took over the Sherman Theater with their theatrical metal.

Ghost puts on an amazing show. Musically they are tight and spot on, and their stage presence is entertaining, packed with energy and attention is given to every detail. From the techs dressed in their Satanic “Sunday best” (black suit and tie)… the altar men uncloak the drums and keyboard as fog and lower lights illuminate the stage. The nameless ghouls take the stage, wearing their well tailored outfits and silver mask. I love how the mouth area on the mask look like it’s blurred out. Even up close, they have that intense eerie feel. Papa Emeritus III emerges from the back of the stage, draped in his ghost embroidered cloak and Pope hat with a strong white light. The ghouls look like shadows of the night as Papa steps forward to his righteous space on the stage and the crowd ignites! They even do a communion of sort, with nuns – The Sisters of Sin who pass out wine.

The 14 song set is packed full of tunes from the three albums, including their latest album “Meliora.” They played favorites like “From the Pinnacle to the Pit,” “Stand by Him,” “Cirice,” “Year Zero,” “He Is” and “Ritual” to name a few… They even breaking it down with an acoustic version of the Roky Erickson song, “If You Have Ghosts.” before coming back for an encore with “Monstrance Clock.”

Ghost puts on a really fun show that you won’t want to miss. They will be in Niagara Falls NY on April 17 at The Rapids Theatre as well in the Albany NY area as they will perform at the Rock ‘n Derby festival in Schaghticoke, NY this May.
