31 days of Halloween – Day 8
This week’s Throwback Thursday – Halloween edition backs us back to 1998 – to the rock shocker himself – Rob Zombie.
After the split of White Zombie, Rob would venture out on his own solo career. In August 1998, Rob would release his debut album, Hellbilly Deluxe. With hits like “Dragula,””Superbeast,” and “Living Dead Girl,” the album would quickly climb into the Top 5. In October 1998, Rob would take it on the road.
Musician Photo Journal was there! We caught Rob on his first tour ever, when the tour stopped into Utica NY on Oct 29. Halloween came a little early for us that year and what an amazing show he brought to the stage! Opening the night was Monster Magnet and Fear Factory and The Utica Memorial Auditorium was packed! There was no doubt – Rob had kicked up his live performances and Rob Zombie was sure to break new grounds!
And break new grounds he did. Rob would go on to write, produce and do the soundtrack for several cult movie classics : “House of 1,000 Corpses,” “The Devil’s Rejects,” “Halloween II” and “Lords Of Salem.” He released his latest movie,”The Zombie Horror Picture Show” last year and looks to release his newest thriller/horror “31” next year. He continued to release albums that brought even more hits to the radio like: The Sinister Urge (“Demon Speeding” “Scum of the Earth” “Feel So Numb” ), Hellbilly Deluxe 2 (“Sick Bubblegum” “What?” “Werewolf Women of the SS”) Educated Horses (“American Witch” “Lords Of Salem”) and more.
While Rob has been slated for album #6 – rumor has it that won’t hit stores until after the release of his movie “31.” You can catch Rob out on tour this fall, including the show tomorrow night in Binghamton NY.
