It was “Nothin’ But A Good Time” when Bret Michaels with his band performed a free show at the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany! Playing several Poison favorites from “Look What The Cat Dragged In” to “Unskinny Bop,” Talk Dirty To Me” to “Fallen Angel” you really stepped into back in time, yet in a more up close and personal performance than what you will ever get at a Posion arena show. It was way more intimate of a setting that just made seeing Bret Michaels just that more special of an event.
As part of Albany’s “Summer At The Plaza,” it really was a family oriented crowd which was fun to watch the generations come together, holding their cellphones (and I think I saw some old school lighters) in the air for “Every Rose Has It Thorn.”
Bret threw in to the set list – the classic tune “Sweet Home Alabama” and his verson of Sublimes “What I Got” which he said was the first song he heard again after all the crap he went through with the brain aneurisms. Both songs can be found on Bret Michaels latest solo album, “Jammin’ with Friends .”
Bret Michaels definitely puts on a fun show. Anyone who loved the ’80″s/90’s Rock – love Posion needs to catch this show at least once!
