With taking a different approach to their third studio album, Black Stone Cherry has produced their best album to date. “Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea” pushed the guys past their limits, taking them out of their comfort zone of the recording in their hometown area and placing them with the renown producer Howard Benson (Seether, Creed, Skillet, Motorhead, Halestorm, Kelly Clarkson) in his studio in Los Angeles, CA, while for the first time collaborating with outside songwriters which inspired and helped push their own creativity to the next level.
Musician Photo Journal caught up with lead vocalist/guitarist, Chris Robertson and drummer/backing vocalist John Fred Young before their performance at the Carnival Of Madness show in Albany NY. The guys share with us a little glimpse into what helped shape them as a musician as young boys growing up in Kentucky, what it was like to push those comfort zones with the new album and the great experience they had in the end.
