The three piece Australian Rock band, SICK PUPPIES is no stranger to central NY. With their singles “Maybe”, “White Balloons”, and “Riptide” burning up the radio waves on all our modern rock stations. Vocalist and guitarist Shimon Moore, bassist Emma Anzai and drummer Mark Goodwin have been touring across the world making several stops in Central NY. Musician Photo Journal first caught the trio when they played a headlining show in Clifton Park with Adelitas Way and Framing Hanley. (Show Review Here). They played to the sold-out club and captivated their audience like no other. We had the pleasure of catching the band a second time, when they were part of Central NY’s largest Modern Rock festival, KROCKATHON 16. They shared the stage with Stone Temple Pilots, Seether, Bush, Dropkick Murphy’s, My Darkest Days and several others. While their set that day was during the hottest part of the afternoon sun, nothing could slow this band down. They have this great magnetic appeal that will draw in a crowd, no matter what the conditions are. Without a doubt they were one of the bands people were still talking about for weeks after.
Central New Yorkers, you have one last time to see this Aussie trio, before they head home when they perform at Q-Ruption in Saratoga Springs NY on August 19, 2011. The band has been touring straight for the past 2 years now and plan to head back to the land down under for some well deserved and well earned time off. Also on the bill are local favorites, Selfish Needy Creatures, Memphis natives Egypt Central, the American Christian Rocker Skillet, Los Angeles’ heavy hitters Five Finger Death Punch and Massachusette’s own Godsmack will be headlining the show. Be sure to get there early to enjoy all the bands. Set Times listed below:
