SKID ROW – Interview

With their first three albums going multi-platnium, Skid Row was one of the last “Hair Metal” bands to take the mainstream by storm before the whole grunge movement took hold. Yet, they had a sound which would break the pop-metal mold by pushing the limits with harder, thrashy guitars with unique songwriting techniques that would prove to last the test of time. Twenty Three Years later with a new singer and drummer,  Skid Row is still going strong and sounding like I remember when I saw them for the first time opening for Bon Jovi in 1989.

With a summer 2011 tour planned to kick off in July,  we were lucky enough to catch Skid Row headlining the “Taste Of Utica” festival in Utica NY. MPJ had the opportunity to sit down with the two founding members:  Rachel Bolan (bass) and Dave “Snake” Sabo (guitar) just before their set, and we talked about what the band is currently up to, where the band has been and about the upcoming new Skid Row album. Plus, Rachel and Dave let us in on their other musical endeavors and much more. You can watch the chat below.
