“A Tour Of The American Dream” featuring Kopek, Egypt Central and Cold rolled into Northern Lights Nightclub in Clifton Park NY.
Warming up the crowd was the Albany locals, The Lost Sons. They are building a name and fan base opened for such bands as Ed Kowalczyk (Live), George Lynch (Lynch Mob), Sugar Red Drive, Smile Empty Soul and Saving Abel. They are definitely a very hard working band, that if you haven’t heard their music yet, you will soon.
Second up was the Alternative Rockers, Ocean Divide. Hailing from Spokane WA, Oceans Divide was energetic and fun to watch live, they have very radio friendly melodies and hooks. They have a sound that could easily fill an arena. Their self-titled debut album was produced by RED’s guitarist Jasen Rauch and was mixed by Brian Virtue (Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, My chemical Romance, Cavo).
Next up was the boys from Dublin, Ireland – KOPEK. They have an alternative sound with heavy guitars, and grunge style vocals that grabs you from the start; you can’t help but find yourself grooving to the beat. While they just officially release their debut album, “White Collar Lies,” the band has been playing together and touring around the world for the past 10years. Check out the Interview we did with Kopek before the show.
Hailing from Memphis TN, Egypt Central was fourth to command the stage. They came right out in your face, drawing the crowd in masses from the minute they took the stage. They are out in support of their latest album, “White Rabbit” which is scheduled for a May 17th release. The first single, the title track, was released on February 15, 2011.
Headlining the night was Jacksonville, Florida natives, Cold. They still have that tight style, sound and stage presences that they are known for. This band first hit the scene back in 1996. After four albums and relentless touring, the band broke up in 2006. Two of the four albums went gold, but the band parted ways. In 2009, the band reunited and went back out on tour. They just released the first single, “Wicked World” off the new album this past February. Look for the long awaited fifth Cold album, titled “Superfiction” to hit stores on June 28th.
