Genitorturers and Hanzel Und Gretyl – Albany NY

Industrial Shock Rockers GENITORTURERS embark on their “Sexxx U 2 Death” North American Tour. This time around they teamed up with the NYC’s Aggressive Industrial Metal duo, Hanzel Und Gretyl for one kick ass tour.

Hanzel Und Gretyl first hit the scene in 1994 with their extremely limited debut album, “Kindermusik” (only 200 cassette tapes were released on Energy Records). It was only the beginning to what would become of this duo. Fast forward to 2011 and eight albums later and you have this power twosome on stage. Whither it’s a small club in central NY or a sold out arena in Germany, this band knows how to get the floor moving to their beats, all the way from the fans in the front row to the newbies in the back.

Hanzel Und Gretyl plan to be on the road most of 2011 while writing a new album. Be sure to keep an eye out for them to come to a town near you. I know that you won’t be disappointed!

Meanwhile, pick up Hanzel Und Gretyl’s latest release is “2012: Zwanzig Zwölf” on, Metropolis Records (2008).

The Genitorturers also started out in the early 1990’s. Hailing from Orlando Florida, they were part of the same industrial “shock rocker” scene as Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids (who later would be known as just Marilyn Manson). The group started while vocalist, Gen was attending college, studying Pre-Med.

A Genitorturer’s shows are like a more sexual Alice Cooper show but in a “R” rated way. Alice Cooper shocks and thrills his audience by being Hung in the Gallows, Death by the electric chair, and of course his ever so famous snake, all part of his thrills and chills of death and horror. The Genitorures give their shocks and thrill in a more pornographic way, diving into societies taboos regarding the conservative culture. For an example, a “little” church girl (she’s atleast 18) and Mr. Robo-penis man end up creating a bloody baby that Gen pulls from her vagina area and then wears around her neck in just one of the show’s skits.

Comparing the two musically, the Genitortures would fit in perfect on a tour with Alice Cooper. I just don’t know the logistics of how the Genitortures could perform their show to an arena where potentially it would be infront of younger, under age kids. Although, I think it would be a killer match and one hell of a show.

The Genitorturers are planning on returning to Europe in August for several festivals. Their latest release is “Blackheart Revolution” on Retribution Music Label (2009).
