In 1998, Shannon Leto (drums) recruitied his brother Jared Leto (vocals) to start a band. What started out as a small family project has naturally grown into what we know today as 30 Seconds to Mars. Their live shows quickly created a buzz and before you knew it, they were at the top of the charts. Fast forward to today, where 30STM has released their 3rd studio album, “This is War” and has started their next world tour.
Musician Photo Journal caught up with Shannon and guitarist Tomo at the B.O.M.B. (Bring Our Music Back) festival in Durham, CT where they talked about Shannon starting the band with his brother, the struggle that happened in between the second and third albums and getting ready to play in countries that they have never performed in.
