He was a legend that is gone before his time. He will be missed and cherished by many. RIP Dio!! Our deepest heartfelt thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Within the last 14 years of doing concert photography/ music journalist, I have seen millions of shows, photographed an endless list of musicians and yet still certain shows leave an impact and great memories that feel like the show was just last week. Photographing Ronnie Jame Dio with Heaven and Hell was one of those most remembered shows. He had great charisma on stage that was untouchable, a vocal range that filled the arena in such an amazing way, and really knew how to put on one hell of a show.
I would like to share with you, my photos from that show. May this Holy Diver find his peace.

Also, Check out the local news coverage of his death. Ronnie was a central New York native, growing up in Cortland, NY. They visit his old high school, where for years, his portrait hangs on a wall of fame as an inspiration that you can be anything you want to be. They also talk to Ronnie’s cousin about visiting his cousin recently (You really see a family resemblance). YNN’s journalist, Bill Carey did an excellent job covering his death which I think must be shared among the metal community.
