The American guitar virtuoso, John Lowery, aka, John 5 continues to shred up North America playing guitar with Rob Zombie on the Gruesome Twosome Tour. The tour features the ultimate shock rockers of our time: Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper.
John 5 started playing out at a very young age and pursued his dreams to become a studio musician. At age 18, he moved to LA where news about his talents spread like wild fire among the influential people in the LA scene. It was his hard work ethics and skills that led him to work with an impressive list of musicians. His wide range of styles has allowed him to play with Rick Springfield, Lita Ford, K.D. Land, Rob Halford’s, Salt-N-Pepa, Paul Stanley, Lynyrd Skynrd, Meatloaf, David Lee Roth, the Scorpions and many others. In 1998, John joined Marilyn Manson replacing Zim Zum. Marilyn Manson gave John the name, John 5 which has stuck. In 2004 he left Marilyn Manson and went on to do his own solo career. He also started his own band titled Loser in 2005. Soon after, He was ask to play with Rob Zombie.
John joined Rob Zombie for the Ozzfest 2006 tour. He left his band Loser when took up the permanent spot as Rob Zombie’s guitarist. From there, he co-wrote the next Zombie album, “Educated Horses,” writing 8 of the 11 tracks. He co-wrote the latest Rob Zombie album, “Hellbilly Deluxe 2” which hit stores Feb 2010. John 5 continued to work on other project with Rob including the musical score for Rob Zombie’s sixth feature-length film, Tyrannosaurus Rex.
John 5 just released his fifth studio album, “The Art Of Malice” (May 11, 2010) which has guest appearances of Billy Sheehan on bass and Tommy Clufetos on drums. On previous records, John had guest appearances from Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Jim Root.
