It was a full blown Rock n’ Roll night when JET, Crash Kings and Owl plugged in at Northern Lights Nightclub in Clifton Park, NY.
Opening the night was Owl. While bassist/vocalist, Chris Wyse is known worldwide for being the bass player for The Cult (since 2001), back in his hometown area of Clifton Park, he’s still remembered for his grunge band: Mister Strange. Mister Strange hit the scene before they knew what to call grunge; it was pre-nirvana, pre-alice in chains, pre soundgarden. While drawing on those roots, Chris Wyse along side with another local favorite, drummer Dan Dinsmore (The Clay People) and on guitar, LA’s Jason Mezilis (Your Horrible Smile) have united to take us on a rock n’ roll flight called Owl. Their sound is on the edge, fusing elements of grunge, rock and electronica in a unique way that takes on a life of it’s own. It’s not easy to categorize because once again Chris is on the edge of a new genre. So check out the links and give OWL a listen…
The Crash Kings were next to take the stage with their dynamically driven grooves that combine both modern and retro styles of rock n’ roll. Tony Beliveau was spot-on with his vocals, never holding back while tearing up the “guitar riffs” on his Clavinet (keyboard instrument with guitar type strings) during their rock songs. This time around, Tony has a full piano on tour which has a rich grand sound. The music was full of passion. The tight solid sound was held together by bassist Mike Beliveau’s contagious riffs and drummer Jason Morris’s hard hitting beats. They continue to perfect their unique style and sound while giving a great performance.
Crash Kings’ song “It’s Only Wednesday” is heard on the Woody Harrison movie, “Zombieland.” Their first single “Mountain Man” continues to take over the radio waves, and climb both Rock and Alternative Music Billboard Charts. This week they are #11 on Alternative Music and #24 on Rock. They have amazing energy around them and it won’t be long before they become a house hold name. Check out their self-titled debut album on Custard/Universal Motown Records.
Headlining the night was Australian rockers JET. They are currently on their third trip around the world while in support of their new album, Shaka Rock. Just before launching this run in North America, JET performed at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Their remarkable live shows have created an amazing stir, making them “the hot, absolutely must see live” band in the Modern Rock world. Live, they have unlimited energy backed with outstanding talent, wrapped in a tight sounding package. They live up to their noteworthy reputation.
Special packages are now being offered, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel Live! The show has begun to offer fans the chance to meet the musical guests who perform on the show. JET fans can purchase their ticket through the link at www.YouTube.com/JimmyKimmelLive and partake in a special meet and greet with the band at their local shows.
Jet and Crash Kings will continue to tour across North America. You will want to catch a show when they come through your town.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for beginner blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.
Amazing! This awesome giving. Thank you a!
I totally go along you! I have often felt that way but nobody really would like to take it as seriously as we do apparently. Excellent blog anyway, I am going to have to stop by more frequently.
Thanks Jody for taking the time and leaving us feedback. I’m glad that you enjoyed the post.
